“My Two Worlds of Sound”

The Chinese pianist Linlin Fan has been living in Germany since 2003. She is currently working on a project that compares the cultural differences between Europe and her Chinese roots. To show the dynamic relationship between everyday life and her artistic work, Linlin Fan juxtaposes Beethoven’s work with original Chinese music, creating new experiences of sound.

A scholarship of the Bavarian State Ministry for Art, Culture, and Research provided Linlin Fan with the opprotunity for an intensive study of Beethovens works. Her long-time collaboration with the Confucius Institute motivated her to choose the cultural exchange between China and Germany as the emphasis of her work.
